As Principal Engineer for Bushman & Associates, Consulting Corrosion Engineers, headquartered in Medina, Ohio, Mr. Bushman interfaces with numerous clients involving investigation and remediation of corrosion as well as research and development of new concepts and technology for detection, evaluation and control of corrosion.  He has worked as a corrosion consultant for 39 years and is a world wide recognized expert in this field.

He has authored five textbooks, served as editor for a sixth book and written more than 40 definitive papers on a diversity of corrosion and corrosion control subjects and presented over 2500 lecturers in every continent except Antarctica.  He is listed as the inventor or co-inventor on 15 current patents with an additional patent pending.

A registered Professional Corrosion Engineer and NACE Certified Cathodic Protection Specialist, Mr. Bushman is one of only two persons to have been recognized by the US Secretary of Transportation as an Expert in Cathodic Protection.  He was also the only Corrosion Engineer appointed to the Federal Highway Administrations “SHRP” Technology Transfer Board of Directors.  He currently also serves as a member of the the National Academy of Science’s Committee on “Corrosion in Soil Environments” as well as numerous committees of NACE International (formerly the National Association of Corrosion Engineers) and ASTM.

In 1992, he received the Charles W. Sonnenberg Award from the Steel Tank Institute for his technical contributions in corrosion and corrosion control for underground storage tanks.  In May of 1994, he was the recipient of the University of West Virginia’s Appalachian Underground Corrosion Short Course “Colonel George C. Cox Outstanding” award for lifetime achievement in and contribution to the science and understanding of corrosion and corrosion control.
